JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this position is responsible to assist as a support for the Benefits and Pension team and the HR Department on the Tsuut’ina Nation. The HR Benefits and HR Assistant is an essential member of the HR Team and is instrumental in assisting the department to execute services in Benefits and Human Resources.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Supports the Benefits and Pension Coordinator in a clerical/administrative role.
  • Assist employees in benefits enrolments and provide information to employees as required.
  • Maintain tracking of all relevant information.
  • Ability to communicate professionally in a customer service setting.
  • Maintain email data base and submit information electronically as needed.
  • Assist in general HR and administrative activities as needed in the department.
  • Demonstrate high standards of professionalism in all interactions with employees and external partners.
  • Practice utmost confidentiality in all knowledge and dealings of the Human Resources Department.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 12 Diploma
  • Post-secondary education in administrative/clerical related field a definite asset
  • Effective communication skills both oral & written
  • Computer skills; Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and react positively to stressful situations
  • Must possess exemplary interpersonal skills.
  • General knowledge of the human resources and benefits function and role in the organization.
  • On the job training can be provided as needed.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Complete a criminal record check
  • Professional dress attire

IN ADDITION:

  • Depending on your position – a Vulnerable Sector check must be required upon application from all provinces, states or countries lived in for the last four years. Vulnerable Sector checks must be completed within the past month.
