Reports to:      Tsuut’ina Transportation Coordinator/Dispatcher, Tsuut’ina Education Director

Designation    Part-Time

JOB SUMMARY

Reports to the Transportation Coordinator, or in their absence, the Director of Education. The bus attendant will be responsible for assisting the bus driver with loading and unloading students and ensuring the safety of students while on the bus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the bus driver to ensure the safety of the students while getting on/off the bus and while in transit.
  • Report medical problems to bus driver.
  • Assist bus driver during times of emergency.
  • Monitor behavior of students and report and assist with corrective measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students.
  • Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to exercise good judgement when working with children.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer care and personal services.
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local operations for the protection of people, information, property, and community.
  • Occasionally called upon to work overtime or odd schedules.

IN ADDITION:

  • Depending on your position – a Vulnerable Sector check must be required upon application from all provinces, states or countries lived in for the last four years. Vulnerable Sector checks must be completed within the past month.
