Job Title:          Executive Assistant

Department:   Tsuut’ina Development Authority

Reports to:      Manger/Supervisor


This position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Administrative duties within the Tsuut’ina Development Authority. Technical and clerical review, including processing of applications, certificates, and business licenses in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position manages all duties related to administration, payables, and has exceptional skills in all office applications and is IT savvy. The work is performed under the supervision of the Manager of The Tsuut’ina Development Authority.


  • Communication and Coordination with Tsuut’ina Nation Departments
  • Collection of Development and Building Permits Fees
  • Managing website uploads and changes as needed
  • Create and Issue Business Licenses and Business Permits as required
  • Coordinate with Community Enforcement
  • Payables for department using Xyntax software
  • Community Engagement as required
  • Ensuring Nation Standards are met; cultural, environmental, sustainability
  • Internal Communication with administration, other team leads
  • Compiling and Updating TDA Laws, regulations, land use and zoning documents

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required with five (5) years of general clerical experience and a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in development or a construction permit office. A comparable amount of education, training or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.


The applicant must have the ability to deal with the general public in a professional, courteous manner and provide support to the permit clerk position as needed.


The applicant must have the ability to answer questions and resolve problem situations, or refer them to an appropriate office. The applicant must follow check lists and recognize different types of required exhibits and plans. The employee must be able to comprehend instructions, reports, permits and applications.


  • Knowledge of basic development and construction administration
  • Knowledge of general permit processing and specific procedures.
  • Knowledge of land development, and construction terminology.
  • Ability to operate office machines such as computers, adding machines, cash register, fax machine, copier, and multifunctional telephone.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
  • Ability to write and orally communicate detailed information and data in clear and concise manner.


  • Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and 5 years of full-time experience or its part-time and/or volunteer equivalent, providing clerical, secretarial or office support work for a building code enforcement office, engineering office, commercial construction company or related agency or business.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft based applications).
  • Will be required to carry out other duties as required.


  • Depending on your position – a Vulnerable Sector check must be required upon application from all provinces, states or countries lived in for the last four years. Vulnerable Sector checks must be completed within the past month.
