Position: Occupancy Liaison
Reports to: Residential Occupancy Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY
Occupancy Liaison will assist Cliental who utilize assistance from Residential Occupancy Program. Working closely with Residential Occupancy Supervisor to ensuring that all services and resources which they qualify for are accessible to them, also connecting and assisting them with any possible beneficial community programs available to client.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Meet Cliental screen and address requests for assistance.
- Ensure that participant(s) understand rules of Program/Services, their rights and consent to serve.
- Work with cliental participants and maintain availability for personal, practical and moral support while applying and maintaining professional boundaries.
- Liaise with referral resources and external agencies as required.
- Preforms other appropriate duties as required.
- Provide housing support so Occupants can meet housing needs.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT:
- May prepare reports, statistical information as requested/required.
- Participate in training and orientation as required.
- Be an active participant in staff meetings and provide feedback on the development and implementation of policy/program items (and special events when required).
- Be aware and adhere to Program policy and procedures required and ensure that any updated policies are reviewed as required.
- Always represent Tsuutina Nation in a professional manner and uphold the Mission of Tsuutina Nation. Ensure that Tsuutina Nation’s policy regarding confidentiality is always maintained, and that job responsibilities are carried out in a professional, effective, and efficient manner.
QUALIFICATONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Intake case management an asset.
- Related experience in a social services / mental health setting or working with marginalized clientele an asset.
- Experience performing administrative duties, computer data input and cash handling an asset.
- Respect and understanding of The Tsuutina Nation – its mission, culture and values.
- Post-secondary education / training in a human service related field. (combination of equivalent education and experience may be considered)
- Current Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Current certification in Standard First Aid with Level C CPR.
- Current certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
- Valid Drivers license.
- First Aid and CPR certified.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- This position requires a high degree of compassion, integrity, patience, good communication and people skills, and the ability to function in a stressful environment.
- Competent to develop and maintain participant relations while demonstrating professional boundaries.
- Use a trauma aware approach.
- Respectfully work as part of a broader team.
- Must be proficient in MS Office, Outlook and databases as required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills – clear and simple to understand and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong prioritizing and organizing skills.
- Must be adaptable, able to take direction, multi-task and resourceful.
IN ADDITION:
- Depending on your position – a Vulnerable Sector check must be required upon application from all provinces, states or countries lived in for the last four years. Vulnerable Sector checks must be completed within the past month.
