From Two Crossing Road to the Council chamber, Zachary Elias Manywounds (Wusa Ischasha) grew up surrounded by Manywounds and Crowchild families and the stories of ancestors whose courage and wisdom continue to guide him today. Descended from grandparents Pete and Muriel Manywounds and parents Dean and Earlene Manywounds, Zachary’s journey is grounded in optimism, pride, and a deep commitment to service. Grateful for the encouragement and support of his Nation, Zachary approaches his role as Xàkújààwith a forward-looking perspective and a positive spirit, dedicated to empowering others and carrying forward the legacy of those who paved the way.
Zachary advocates for citizen-led decision-making, trust, and collective healing, advancing a governance agenda built on accountability and empowerment. His leadership is practical and people-first, inspired by the wisdom and resilience of Tsuut’ina Nation; past, present, and future. Zachary’s professional experience spans entrepreneurship, serving as General Manager for SGP, collaborating with organizations such as AER, CER, and CNSC, and chairing the TTN Combative Commission.
Above all, Zachary finds his greatest fulfillment in being a father, considering it his most meaningful accomplishment. The joys and responsibilities of parenthood are central to his life, shaping his values and perspective. His commitment to family extends into his work across the Nation. As a former professional combative athlete, Zachary is actively involved in coaching and training at the 7 Chiefs Sportsplex, participating in local events, and supporting sport initiatives.
Throughout this term, Zachary’s priorities are to empower citizens, foster trust, and promote healing, with every decision shaped by the expectations and aspirations of the people. He is resolute in putting the people first, ensuring their voices and experiences are at the core of his leadership.
