10 individuals have been charged after the completion of a Human Trafficking investigation on the Tsuut’ina Nation.

Members of the Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service in partnership with the Calgary Police Service launched an operation- Project Buffalo, to combat the purchasing of sexual services from underage Indigenous girls.

In May, Project Buffalo saw multiple individuals arrange meetings for sexual services with minors.

10 males were arrested totaling 31 charges.

Charges include:

    Section 172.1(1)(a) CC

Luring a Child for the Purpose of Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration from a Person Under 18 years.

    Section 286.1(2) CC

Obtaining Sexual Services for Consideration from a Person Under 18 years .

    Section 152 CC

Invitation to Sexual Touching Under 16 years of age .

All charged were non-nation members.
