Gújā nágúdīgòy(Good morning),
As you may know, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has officially initiated a full disruption of Canada Post postal services.
We understand that any disruption in Government of Canada services can create challenges for your clients. To ensure our continued commitment to supporting individuals that need it the most we are reaching out to remind you of the many service channels we have in place to ensure continued access to Service Canada programs, services and benefits.
Our online tools are available to help manage clients’ needs effectively, even during service interruptions. Through the My Service Canada Account your clients are able to access information about their Employment Insurance, Canada Pension Plan, Old Age Security and Canadian Dental Care Plan benefits. In addition, clients are able to update their file information such as direct deposit.
We strongly encourage clients to register for direct deposit, particularly during the disruption of Canada Post postal services, to assist in ensuring that there are no delays in receiving payments for benefits. To register for direct deposit outside of the mail channel clients can:
You can find more information on the ways in which clients can sign up for direct deposit by visiting the Canada.ca website.
If you have any questions, would like more information on Service Canada programs, services and benefits, or if you would like to plan an outreach activity with us, please do not hesitate to contact me by return email or phone. I would be happy to provide you or your staff with more information on our services at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Emilie Houerie
