Please see the attached poster and information below for the Spark Indigenous Science Night happening on March 20th, 2026, from 5 PM – 10 PM at the TELUS Spark Science Centre.

The Indigenous Science Team at TELUS Spark Science Centre is hosting another Indigenous Science Night. The theme this time is “Sport, Survival, Spirit,” highlighting science of Land, Spirit, Intuition, & Community for survival and relationality. This event is activity oriented, so come get your body moving and learn some science!
Date/Time: March 20th, 2026, 5:00-10:00PM
Admission: FREE for Indigenous People, or $10 adults/$5 children
Parking: FREE
Free Shuttle: from the Calgary Zoo North Entrance to Spark Main Entrance and back from 4:50-10:20 PM.
What to Expect:
-“Spins & Snow” Jump alongside Olympic Snowboarder Liam Gill, from Łı́ı́dlı̨ı̨ Kų́ę́ First Nation, while learning about the difference between a MacTwist and a switch backside 900!
-“Hooves & Humans” Gallop over to hang out with the hairy and human stars of Old Sun Indian Relay Team.
-“OG Powerbar-making Workshop” led by Myra Good Eagle
-try out some “Indigenous & Blackfoot Games” led by Jason Plain Eagle and “Arctic Games” led by Peter Daniels
-try out different arrow physics with “Arrow Aerodynamics” led by Alice Kaquitts and Tom Snow
-learn to skate at Cousin’s Skateboard Mobile park
-learn some pow wow moves with “Movement, Dance, & Frequencies” in the digital gallery. Jammin’ with beats from Tribe Artist Society and Emil Starlight.
-fish around for the science of hooks and land in an all-ages activity called “Hooks & Fishes
-Hand Games, test your slapshot, Indigenous Sport Film Festival, the Pemmican Saskatoon Ice Cream returns, and much more…
