It has been reported that there may have been a possible measles exposure at the Rockyview General Hospital Emergency department on April 4. Anyone who has been in the ER between 10:17 am – 6:17 pm may have been exposed.
It is vital that community members stay safe and monitor for symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, or rash if they may have been exposed. We urge members of the community to stay home and away from others if they have any symptoms as this virus is very contagious. If you must go to any healthcare facility, please call ahead of time to inform them of your symptoms and possible measles exposure to protect others.
We also urge members of the community to get the 2-dose measles vaccine if they have not already gotten it to prevent themselves from getting measles.
Please call the health centre at 403 251-7575 to check immunization status or to book an appointment to get immunized.
